“Your submission is often your first audition.”
Your application is being judged before you have even said a single line.
After four decades in production and casting, Christopher Armstrong says he is still surprised by what even talented actors and models present and submit.
Old photos. Unclear photos. Group shots. Material that doesn't address what is actually being asked for. When hundreds of applications need to be reviewed, it is not the casting team's job to go looking for you. Your profile and application must quickly show who you are today and why you might be right for the role.
Do the work before you hit submit. Casting directors are there to assess whether you are right for the role, not to hunt for the right photo, test broken links, or try to figure out who you are today. Make it easy for them to see you and move forward with you.
